Why support Teach for India?
“No child’s fate must be decided by their circumstances”
Arjun Puri – Teach For India Fellow 2013
In India today, 4% of children never start school. 58% don’t complete primary schools. And 90% don’t complete school. Teach for India was set up to address the fact that only 10% of children go on to college.
Teach For India exists because of a deep belief that every child can and must attain an excellent education. They believe that no child’s demographics should determine his or her destiny and that the end of educational inequity is the freedom for all children to have the opportunity to reach their potential.
They are committed to finding, developing and supporting India’s brightest, most promising leaders for this to happen.
